On time - a performance with 38 beginnings
Different forms of counting off, countdowns and other signals marking a start or an end, promise a beginning that happens either never or is happening always. Well known countdown formats and abstract structures are assembled to a rhythmical, partly absurd dialogue of numbers, words and gestures. The projection in the background visualises the remaining time of the performance in minutes and seconds.
The work addresses the time before the beginning of an action, the time where everything is longing for the beginning or the end. The performers use the possibility to constantly start anew, simultaneously failing to begin at all. This performance uses waiting and preparation as the action to focus on.
The performance can be shown once or as a repeated loop over a longer duration.
